Day 17 At Sea
Today was a lazy day at sea punctuated by a medical evacuation by helicopter. This morning we had to turn back to meet an RAF helicopter to take off a guest with a head injury. It was nice to have a quiet day at sea to relax. Tomorrow morning I will be meeting my friends Aart & Yvonne for a wonderful day in Holland…..

Hi Jeff,
I stumbled upon your blog at the beginning of your last world cruise, and now I can't get enough! I feel like I take a mini-vacation every day while stuck at my desk at work - your pictures are gorgeous, and I'm learning a lot about the world that, aside from a handful of major European cities, I have yet to visit. I was curious as to how you began cruising - do you or did you work for Holland America? Just a fan of travel? How are you able to cruise for such long stretches of time? Please don't feel obligated to answer if that's too private - I'm really just fascinated...and dream of doing this myself one day. :)
Enjoy the rest of your trip - I hope you don't mind me "lurking" and I look forward to seeing where your travels take you!
Best,
Mardie, age 29

Jeff,
Wonderful photos as always and great commentary. We too love Scotland, especially as my husband's ancestors came from the highlands - Inverness. The Scottish are just so friendly.
