Today was truly an amazing day for me…. We arrived early in the morning in the harbor outside Nanortalik, Greenland. I was outside very early checking out the icebergs and snapping photos like crazy. I took around 300 photos before going ashore…. It certainly is a very scenic place, a photographer’s dream. I just wish my Mom & Dad were still around so I could talk with them about this wonderful day. I’m sure you are not surprised that I was the first passenger ashore…. I was so excited that I woke up at 0230 last night! The colorful homes and icebergs makes this an amazing place to visit. The people, although not proficient in English, were very warm & friendly. Today made my voyage just and amazing one and it has only just begun…. We are getting ready to sail so I'm going Iceberg hunting again....

These may be your best pictures yet. The contrast are so beautiful-barren land and brightly painted buildings; icebergs and pretty flowers. I'm glad you had a good day.
Oh my gosh...the colors of the buildings are AMAZING against the landscape. Considering your description of the visit and the excitement you've had, I'm willing to bet this day ranked in the top 10 of your life. Enjoy the rest of the trip!
Jeff,
Such cuties & you included all bundled up!!!
Loved the photos!
THANKS,
Jean & Doug
Fantastic Jeff and so glad you got to "go home." What a wonderful feeling it must have been stepping off the ship!
Jeff,
You've sold me on you northern journey. Looks like Jo and I may have to make our way there in the future.
Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the pics. We were on the Maasdam in April and this itinerary looked so tempting. Your photos and blog are making it even more so!

Hi Jeff,
I could feel your excitement and I could just see you waiting to get off the ship (like a child on Christmas morning). So glad you shared with us your photos and your experiences there.
I am so happy for you that you have been able to make this journey. Peace.
