Day 47 Sydney, Australia

Today was another fantastic day in Australia….  I met Ed & Becky early this morning off the ship after they completed their Tai Chi with Robert.  We headed out going across the Sydney Harbor Bridge, checking out the other side for an hour or so before coming back.  On the way back we climbed up the Pylon (viewing platform) for some scenic shots of Sydney.  Then we headed out to the Government House & Botanical Gardens…..  It was a great, albeit, short day in Sydney.  The ship was scheduled to leave at 2:00 pm with a very special sail out celebration.  We had a Sydney Orchestra playing for us and were escorted by an historic replica of the Dutch ship  Duyfken which under the command of Captain Willem Janszoon in 1606 discovered the continent of Australia.  Stein Kruse & some of his staff are here until Cairnes hosting a party for the World Voyagers…..  Great day!!

Gosh ... thanks for all the wonderful photos!

White & red Grevillea blooming, the Sulphur-crested cockatoo (have to wonder if it's the same one we all saw in 2009 while in the harbour?), the "coat hanger" as they call the bridge, the Opera House & Luna Park ... you made us want to be right there with you!

Thanks for the photos of Christel & Henk, Bruce jumping ship (aha!) & Kim (please send her our best & tell her we'll be on in 2012!)

Take Care,
Jean & Doug
