I was all over the map today… I left the ship before 8:00 this morning with Becky & Ed and we headed to Clarke Quay on the Singapore River via the MRT as a jump off point for our exploring. We walked along the river toward Marina Bay catching the sights along the way. One of the most amazing was a new building, a restaurant, which looks like a huge ship resting on top of three large buildings… amazing! The Merlion on the bay which normally spouts water is still out of commission from a lightning strike a couple of years ago, bummer. After going to Merlion Park, we headed back toward Chinatown where I was to meet a couple of old friends that were on the Princess World Voyage, Ian & Carole Paterson. Shortly after arriving in Chinatown I connected with Ian & Carole and the visit was grand. The highlight of our visit was the three of us getting a fish pedicure. Those fish eating away all the dead skin is a trip. Just don’t eat at their seafood restaurant. The visit with my friends was a very special part of a great day. This evening, Allan, Sandra, Ed, Becky, Robert, Bronwyn and myself went to Clarke Quay for a fabulous Chinese dinner…. What a wonderful day!!!!

O.K. up until now Gloria was not jealous at all. But when she see you got a fish pedicure. Well it is a good thing we are goin gback in 2012.
Thanks for explaining the fish mani/pedi. What a cool experience! I'd be curious to try it... how long does it take and is it as good as a traditional mani/pedi?
Fantastic photos from Singapore, Jeff! Thanks!

Hey jeff, does singapore still have all "the rules"? No gum, no spitting, etc.etc.....? The 1st time i was there they had all the rules listed on a shirt of what you "CAN'T DO " It was also the time that they were expanding singapore.
All the rules are still there... I probably violated at least 2...
nice to see my mom and dad --- that's more than what they've sent me! :)

It was great seeing your parents... It has been too long since our last visit.
