Day 62 Hong Kong, People's Republic of China

I had another great day in Hong Kong….  I left the ship with no real plan but seemed to wander toward the Star Ferry and found myself heading to Hong Kong from Kowloon.  It was a foggy, overcast day so going up to Victoria Peak was out of the question.  I started heading out toward the mid level escalators so I could check out the markets along the alleyways and the people.  As I made my way in that direction the sun popped out so… I changed direction and headed toward the Tram station to go up to the peak.  I made my way to the peak just about the time that the sun went away once again… Oh well, it still was a lovely view.  After the peak I headed to the botanical Gardens and Zoo which made for a nice visit.  Then it was back to the original direction I took in the morning and headed back to the mid level escalators and the markets…  what fun!  The day was great and the evening quite a bit of fun.  The sail away/ Mardi Gras party in the Crow’s Nest was a blast.  Now I can sit back for two days at sea as we head toward Vietnam…

Thanks for the diverse pictures from Hong Kong, Jeff! It's been almost 30 years since my first and only trip there so it's a treat to see your current photos. Really enjoying your trip (as always) through your blog and fantastic photo journal. Thanks again!

I'm so glad you are having such a great time. I'm truely living this trip through your posts and especially loving all the photos of passengers and crew. Hard to believe it's only a month until Athens...say hi to everyone for me. I'm visiting the Zaandam on Sunday.. Andre is still onboard as Captain. Have a diet coke for me.

Great fotos, as always.

Enjoy the days at sea and hope you can work on that tan and catch up on your R&R -- do I hear a massage coming up?
