My first trip to the island of Réunion was magnificent….. We hooked a taxi for a tour of some of the dramatic scenery that this small but beautiful island has to offer. We headed out to Salazie, the gateway to Cirque de Salazie and the spectacular mountains, gorges, waterfalls and cliffs. You could never imagine a small island such as this could have so much dramatic scenery. We made our way to the village of Hell-Bourg and stopped for a while for refreshments and shopping. Later we made our way back toward Le Port via St-Denis where we stopped once again for refreshments and shopping. It was so hot there…. 42 degrees Celsius, over 100 F. I was cooking! It turned out to be a fabulous day. I really liked Réunion and hope to return again some day. Tomorrow, we arrive in another new port for me, Port Louis, Mauritius....
