Day 181 Bangkok, Thailand

I had to go through Malaysian Immigration early this morning (of course they were late) and then it was off to the airport, The flight to Bangkok wasn't too bad. Checked into the Peninsula Hotel and then it was time to explore. There wasn't anything scheduled for the first day so I thought a ride through the Klongs (canals) would be in order. The sights were amazing.... There was a quick stop at Wat Arum (Temple of Dawn) which is one of my favorites.... During the evening it was a stroll through the night markets. At this point we have seen no sign of the Red Shirt protestors... everything appears pretty normal.

Hi Jeff,
Glad to see that you were able to visit Bangkok.
We just came thru yet another noreaster (70mph winds all day and 4" of rain). Up side is the spring flowers are up and green grass is in evidence!!!
Also read that Fiji was badly damaged by a cyclone. Glad you're having great weather.
Pictures of India and Thailand are
fabulous-such color and contrast.
Take care and enjoy.

Great to see that you are in bangkok. Wow what great pics you are taking. I don't think we went to bangkok on the 67 grand voyages. But we did go to pattaya. I want to get back to thailand someday.
