Well.... I went out early (as usual) for the sail into Juneau. I had about four hours so it was a pretty long time. We did see a number of whales but they were a bit far for my taste. It was really nice to finally arrive in Alaska. We arrived , on time into Juneau and I got off right away. The weather was holding up pretty well so I took the tram to the top of Mt Roberts. The view was great and the hiking trails tremendous. By the time I came down from the mountain and walked around town a did some shopping it was around 1:45. I went back to the ship, dumped bags and photos and had some lunch. I still had over an hour to wander around town before my 3:15 tour. Oh well, the best laid plans.... I ended up walking away from my tour, blowing it off and going back to the ship. Let's just say I made a big mistake switching from m original tour, the helicopter tour to the glaciers, to the photo tour..... Oh well.....the first part of the day was good, the ending... a bust. Tomorrow we do some scenic cruising of the Hubbard Glacier, hopefully I will get some good photos. The crew and staff aboard the ms Amsterdam have done a stellar job to this point and everything is great....

Jeff-
The photo of the bald eagle is terrific (as well as the others). If there is a photo contest on this voyage / segment of the voyage, I think wildlife winner for sure.
Hope all is well-
Dennis
Beautiful pictures. Is it cold?
It wasn't too cold...not beach weather though.
Jeff as long as the water is soft it's beach weather.
Canucks know that!

My wife and I cruised Alaska last year using the same itinerary. Your pictures are bringing back a lot of good memories.
Keep posting those excellent pictures.
