Day 94 Kusadasi, Turkey

Today, Ed, Becky & I stayed in the local Kusadasi area.  We decided to walk around and explore the city.  We started with a trek to Pigeon Island to check out the fort.  The fort was just so, so…  not well maintained, too bad.  The fort, built in the Ottoman era, to be used against pirates could be pretty nice if maintained well.  Next we decided to walk along the  waterfront down to the marina at the far end and then into the streets of the shopping district.  Finally, we climbed the hill to the monument to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the modern Turkish state.  The climb was challenging and the views magnificent.  A number of kids we there to take advantage of the winds aloft to fly their kites.  Today was a nice day to walk around and enjoy friends…
