Day 6 Ketchikan, Alaska

Another big day in Alaska! My visit to Ketchinan was great. The experience of flying on a floatplane was amazing. The views of the Misty Fjords were magnificent….. When the pilot landed the plane in the Misty Fjords, it was so smooth I didn’t even now we had landed. It was so serene and beautiful just floating there on the water. Alaska is simply beautiful! After returning back to Ketchikan I wandered around the town and went to the Totem Heritage Center, I even bought a totem to bring back. I needed more stuff at home to collect dust. Well, that pretty much does it for Alaska Tomorrow afternoon we arrive into Victoria B.C., Canada. I look forward to wandering around… my first visit there! What a wonderful voyage… Alaska is a great place to visit and HAL has done an exceptional job along the way…..

The pictures from the float plane are so beautiful. Do you book your tours through HAL or do you use private tours?
Have a nice time in Victoria. It's a fun city too. Should be a lot of Olympic stuff around.

Pics are amazing as always! The water in the Fjord was amazingly smooth! When in doubt, I think the aerial tours are a fantastic option and always seem to live up to their price tag~

On my first cruise to Alaska I also bought a totem. Its 6 ft tall and I had to have it shiped home but well worth the cost. It sits proudly in my back yard and I smile and remember each day. I'm glad you enjoyed your Alaska visit. Don't be surprised if you find Alaska calling you back some day!

Hi Jeff,
Hard to believe this segment is coming to an end already. So happy for you that the weather held and you were able to see such a variety of thngs. As always your photos speak for themselves-especially enjoyed the little otter.
Glad you enjoyed your trip even if the temps aren't exactly what you prefer. Warmer days are ahead!

Hi Jeff, Your pictures of Ketchikan bring back many memories of my 3 trips to Alaska. Last time I did the Misty Fjords in the co-pilots seat in a tiny float plane. Fabulous experience. When you are in Vancouver on Sunday there will be lots of Olympic stuff at the BAY on Granville St. near Canada Place - wait till you come back in the Spring and all on sale!!
I will watch your journey troughout the winter as I did last year - wonderful pictorial trip. Have a great journey to the South Pacific. I almost booked the trip but it has to wait for a year. Nora
