This morning in Capetown was pretty nice….. Table Mountain revealed more of itself this morning but the wind was still pretty fierce. Today was the day to head off for a safari. We had an 11:44 a.m. flight to Port Elizabeth to begin our journey to Amakhala Game Reserve. The flight was pretty good and we arrived on time. WE were picked up at the airport and whisked away to the game reserve. We arrived around 2:00 p.m. at Amkhala and checked in, dropped our luggage and got together for and afternoon snack before going on our first drive at 3:00. The drive itself was OK but the weather was pretty much a constant light drizzle which made photography a challenge (a lot of lens cleaning). It felt really good to be out in the wild and seeing the African wildlife up close. The first day was great. The food and accommodations at the Safari Lodge were fabulous.
