Planning the journey....

Here's what I'm thinking... As I said, it is time for a road trip. I have decided to go north. It is a rough outline so far but here is the overview. I may leave by Friday and head up the highway toward New England. I thought a stop at Chincoteague Island might be nice on the way and then I will either go up through Delaware or head to the Cape May Lewes Ferry toward the Jersey shore... not sure yet which way. I will ultimately be heading through New Jersey/New York heading to Branford Connecticut and stay with my friend Kathy and her family for a short visit while I explore some of the scenic day drives of Connecticut and Rhode Island and whatever is available. I would like to see historic sights, lighthouses, covered bridges and scenic coastlines. I will head up the coast from Connecticut through Rhode Island, Massachusetts New Hampshire and into Maine. I have identified numerous routes to explore which hopefully will be worth the effort. I also plan on going into Canada, visiting Nova Scotia and possibly Prince Edward Island. Ultimately I will head back down south toward Delaware where I can visit family and friends and perhaps go to the beach..... I have a lot of things to do tomorrow if this is going to come together.....

We visited Prince Edward Island about years ago. Well worth the time.
My
Grandmother was born there in the 1800's at Stanley Bridge. The home she was born in is still in the Fyfe family. Family lore says that she was a child hood friend of the author of Anne of Green Gables. Which is very close to where she lived.

A big difference from where I grew up in Southe Western Arizona and now in Orange Co. CA.

Have a good trip.

WE board the Amsterdam the 26th of July for two weeks North to Alaska.

An out of the way sight we enjoyed in Maine on our road trip was the reversing falls. Not easy to find but what a relaxing and calming place to just sit and enjoy.

So now you're going to be a road warrior! Cool, Jeff! We'll be following along, of course... ahh, just the idea of lighthouses and covered bridges is so romantic. And of course Anne of Green Gables is a fave of mine so Prince Edward Island would be magical place to see. Have fun and safe travels!

Why not visit Amish country on your way up north? Lancaster County PA?

Hope you are planning on visiting the Hodges family if you get to Vermont. If the weather cooperates I see a balloon ride happening!
