Time to wind down and take a breath.....

I left my friends house in Connecticut this morning.... It was very sad for me. They are such a wonderful family and it is very special having the privilege to spend a few days with them. My intent , when I left, was to head for my sister's house in Delaware with a stop off to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on the way. My plans started to change almost immediately after I left. The traffic was so horrendous that my taste for making a side trip wained as each stop & go mile passed. It took me 2 hours just to get out of Connecticut. New York wasn't much better.... The adventure of the last 2 weeks was wonderful... it certainly seemed like so much more than 2 weeks. Some of those days along the way were 12-16 hours long. I thoroughly enjoyed my visits to nature preserves, traveling the New England & Maritime coasts and most of all the time I spent with family & friends. A very special thanks to Tom & Kathleen Gargano (and the kids) and Frank & Barbara Davis for you kind & generous hospitality.... Now I will spend some quality time with my sister & her family and.... surprise, sit in the sun and drink diet coke. I will be thinking about where & when my next adventure will take me....

I enjoyed the road trip as you went to a lot of our favorite places. I'm sure some R & R is in order. A little family helps too!

Hi Jeff,
Glad you enjoyed your Northern road adventure. Your pictures really capture the beauty and diversity of New England and Maritime Canada.
Sorry about the NYC and CT I-95 backups. When I go to DC to visit my daughter I take the Merritt Pky to 270, and Garden State to avoid the traffic jams.
When you crossed the Thames River in CT did you happen to see our
New London Ledge Light Lighthouse and the New London Lighthouse?
Enjoyed your trip and the pictures revived a lot of memories.
Enjoy the beach and sun.

Maybe if you put sand on your floor boards it would make the drive seem more beachy. heheheee
