Day 46 Sydney, Australia

I got up this morning at 0430 and boy am I tired…. It was a great sail into Sydney Harbor from the bridge. It was pretty overcast but not raining. It is such a magnificent view. After we docked, I got together with my friends Ian & Carol who were joining me for the bridge climb. We got off the ship at 0800 and headed for the bridge climb office. We booked a night climb for 7:00 tonight. From there we decided to go to the Pylon Lookout for some great views of the harbor and the ship. It didn’t open until 1000 so we walked all the way across the bridge and got some nice views from across the harbor. We stopped at the Freckle Face Café which was perfect since one of our party has a wonderful collection of freckles….. We then walked back across the bridge and went up the Pylon Lookout. While at the top I ran into the wife of one of my tablemates (Larry & Carol) and it just happened that I spotted Larry climbing the bridge. Here are a couple of photos for Larry…. We finished at the Pylon and we to a café along Circular Quay for lunch. We then walked to the Opera House and the Botanical Gardens… getting pretty tired about now. Well we went back to the ship to rest a bit for our climb and I’m so lucky I get to do blog stuff…. I’m hoping for a great evening… I pray it doesn’t rain. Tomorrow I will be up bright and early heading for the Blue Mountains. Here is a description: Discover the Blue Mountains
Pass through the 2000 Olympic site at Homebush Bay en route to the Blue Mountains--an awesome Grand Canyon-like rock formation among deep valleys and cascading waterfalls. The nearby small towns are a home away from home for city folk on the weekends. Enjoy some free time at either Leura or Katoomba for lunch on your own at one of the numerous cafis or restaurants. The arts and crafts shops will intrigue you. Continue your tour with a ride on the world's steepest perpendicular railway plunging 700 feet down into the valley. Then, you'll walk for about seven minutes to the Scenicender cable car, which returns you to the top. The famous Three Sisters rocks are right in front of you, and you will catch panoramic distant views of the Jamieson Valley, Mount Solitary, the Ruined Castle, Katoomba falls and the Burraborang Valley. Return to Sydney by coach.

The bridge climb was simply amazing.... Night time rocks!!!!!!
