Day 59 Honolulu, Hawaii

We had a really great day today. We arrived very early this morning and immigration went pretty quickly. Ian, Carol & I hooked up a taxi today to do a bit of touring. We headed out toward Diamond Head but couldn’t climb it today because of a maintenance project. We went on past Koko Head to Hanauma Bay…. Beautiful!!!! We continued along the coast past Sandy Beach and Sea Life Park. It was really a bit nostalgic when we went by Bellows Field where I would go with my family when I was a kid when we lived here. We cut across the island and went to the Pali Lookout, spectacular views. We returned to Waikiki and went through the International Marketplace before sitting down for lunch. Then it was off to Waikiki Beach where we spent the rest of a glorious afternoon….. It was really nice to have use of my mobile phone today and talk with family and friends…. Hawaii is a lovely place. It is a place with special meaning since I lived here for three years as a kid. As lovely as it is here there are other things in life that are even more important. I know that my sister Lisa would turn down a free trip from me to Hawaii because it would pull her away from her family. Too bad, it is so nice and warm here, unlike the cold windy weather she faces now…… Great day!!!!
