Day 125 Coquimbo, Chile

We arrived early this morning into Coquimbo, Chile under foggy, overcast conditions. It wasn’t lookingtoo good. As the day unfolded the conditions improved dramatically and we ended up with a nice warm sunny day. We headed out first thing on a local bus to the town of La Serena which dates back to the 1500s. It was fun to explore the town and especially the markets and people in their day to day life. After a few hours there we took a taxi back to Coquimbo. We had a faboulous lunch of fish at the local fish market and again explored this amazing town. The people here were great and the towns very scenic. It was a great day here in Chile.

Jeff,

Hi there! Just want to thank you for being so diligent with the daily photos and blogs. I know it must take a lot of time. Please know that it's very much appreciated! Glad you're having such a great time on your WC. :)

I've been enjoying all the photos, especially all the people, day-in-the-life, various animals, and different architecture ones... hmmm.. guess that covers pretty much the whole scope! :)

Wishing you continued fun and safe travels,
Michelle

P.S. It was great seeing you briefly while in Ft. Lauderdale. Too bad I didn't get to run into you later on in the afternoon and get to chat longer!

Hi Jeff,
Just returned from DC and the Terra Cotta Warrior Exhibit. Your pictures from China interested me in seeing the Exhibit which was fantastic-someday maybe I'll get to view the pits in China.
How do you like your new camera? The photos on The Galapos were amazing.
Thank you again for your wonderful
blog.
