Day 36 Wellington, New Zealand

Today was one of the best…. Ed, Becky & I headed off the ship right away and headed to Old S. Paul’s Anglican church built in 1866 with its amazing wooded interior. It is truly a beautiful historic church. Then it was off to the Kelbourn Cable car up to the elevated Kelburn district with the Botanical gardens, our target location, nearby. The views from the top of the cable car were spectacular and the gardens magnificent… We walked back to the shoreline and headed all the way over to climb Mt. Victoria. Before the climb we had lunch along the waterfront where we took in the fabulous scenery. The climb up Mt. Victoria was both long and strenuous but well woth the effort. The exercise was great and the views amazing. This was truly one of the best days…. Tomorrow, I will be going on a ship’s excursion in Christchurch, taking the Tranz Alpine Express train…. I hope HAL does a good job.

Hi Jeff,

It looks as though you scored a day that was "one out of the box", as Wellington is known as the Windy City and the weather is very unpredictable in that city.
