Day 27 Fort de France, Martinique

Well, today we visited Martinique…. When I first visited Martinique years ago it wasn’t on my list of favorites. I have visited here several times since and it’s standing has not improved with time. To make things worse today it rained off and on most of the day. At best, Martinique is a beach location so when it rains…. So, I decided to, once again, go on a walk around the city and take some photos (despite the rain). The biggest disappointment was that the fort (quite impressive) is not open to the public. It is still a Naval facility, a barracks I believe. Anyway, after a couple of hours of beating the streets I headed back to the ship. I grabbed my pool gear and headed up when I noticed that it was raining a bit. What to do???? I decided to visit Marilou and her magic hands for an 1 ½ hour massage and mini facial while I waited out the rain. It was a great plan… I love getting a massage, reduces all my stress…. OK, so the stress levels aren’t too high… how about just feels good. After leaving the Spa I once again headed for the pool and stayed there until the rain got serious and chased me away. Tomorrow, we are back in Barbados… I am actually going on a tour “ Barbados In-focus Photography Experience” …. We’ll see, I am not convinced yet….
