Day 31 Koh Samui, Thailand

We arrived pretty early this morning anchoring outside the island of Koh Samui, Thailand. Waited around until we were ready to tender ashore and arrive at the dock about ½ hour later. We boarded a minibus and made the ½ trip to the dock to catch a longboat to Koh Tan (Coral Island). The island was nice but it wasn’t all that I expected it to be. First of all I really wanted to get some nice underwater photos but the water clarity wasn’t too good….Oh well. It turned out to be a pretty sunny day even though there were threatening dark clouds on the horizon most of the day. All in all I enjoyed the day on the island. After arriving back into town I walked about a bit, did some shopping and captured a few scenes on my camera. Nice day! I rode back on the tender with the Captain & his wife and we decided we really miss Allan & Sandra, hope you are doing well in Denver….. They were happy to hear you will be on the 2010….

Interesting photos. I'm thinking that some are of boats that were washed ashore during the tsunami in 2004. Just like in New Orleans and Galveston and elsewhere along the Gulf Coast, there aren't the resources and man power to get everything cleaned up and hauled away. Our news last night interviewed a woman who has been without power since Dolly hit us on July 23rd. No one can say when she'll get it back. That's crazy.

Anyhow, I'm glad to see that should I ever get to visit Thailand, I know I can get a Diet Pepsi!!!
