Last night’s Captain’s Grand Voyage dinner was nothing less than exceptional…. We had about 45 guests there and about 15 of the ship’s officers. I was privileged to have been invited to sit at the Captain’s table with our lovely social hostess Jacky Inglis and 8 other guests. We started out with Malossol caviar, Jumbo shrimp and pate de foie gras which were delightful. Next we had a essence of roasted mushrooms soup. Our next course just blew me away, parmesan crusted Dover sole fillets which were perfection. Then it was time for the main course, sautéed filet mignon with asparagus & scalloped potatoes. The finale was an amazing desert. It was a very large plated with 5 deserts, yes 5…. it was amazing. The company was fabulous, the atmosphere & service outstanding and the food, fantastic. It was a lovely evening…. This morning, once we got out in front of some ugly clouds was great… It was a nice and relaxing day. We have had a change in plans, instead of getting to Sydney tomorrow morning we will actually arrive this evening. One of the guests needs shore side medical attention so we are steaming ahead to get to Sydney early.

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to our wonderful country. The dinner sounded great. Was that the only Captain's dinner for the entire voyage or are there others?
I can remember when the World Voyage was on the Prinsendam a few years ago that the Captain invited different guests every few nights for dinner in his suite.

The Parmesan Dover sole fillets sound fabulous and I would have been tempted to stop right there. That is until the fillets arrived. What a nice evening for you. As always, thanks for taking us along on your amazing voyage.
Holy Moly that was some meal. I would have had to be sure I was wearing something with an elastic waistband in order to be able to not miss a bite.
I hope the passenger will be ok...
Passengers needed emergency disembarkation due to being STUFFED!
Nice meal and I hope you spent an hour in the Gym... Ya right...
Hence the diet coke.
Take care bud.
