Day 79 Mumbai, India

Today was great! My trip to Elephanta Island was very nice. The boat ride took about an hour and then I climbed the 120 steps to the top and started sweating like crazy…. Anyway the caves are great too bad the Portuguese used the statues for target practice back in the 16th century. It is tough to take photos, after all it is a cave….. After returning back to the Gateway to India, I decided to leave the tour and just wander around Mumbai and take photos. I got a bit more than I bargained for when I ended up in an area which wasn’t probably the best place to be…. Anyway, I wandered back into civilization and continued my photo journey. I successfully found my way back to the ship and relaxed by the pool for a couple of hours before going out again to use this cheap internet (reliable & fast too!). I think after today we have two days at sea on our way to Dubai, UAE.

Absolutely fab pic's. We will share your blog site with a friend of ours from India who is now living in England. I am sure you will see a comment or two from him (SK is his name for short).

We too had so many problems with slow and unreliable internet on past HAL cruises. Rudy sent HAL head office several technical solutions/suggestions which they seem glad to have but obviously HAL have decided it is not worth dealing with. Such a shame as it would not cost much money or effort for them to deal with the internet problems.

Hey Jeff -

Long time! But I've been following along, just not commenting. I am very excited to see shots from Dubai, but most importantly, from the Seychelles. I hope you get amazing weather there. It's on my "dream list" of places to visit.

Best,
Lisa (HAL Lisa)
