Day 105 Botswana, Africa

This morning we got a 0730 pickup to go to Botswana. It was about an hour and a half to get to the ferry that would take us across the Zambezi River to Botswana. As we approached the river we could see trucks lined up on both side of the road for as far as the eye could see. The trucks need to be ferried across the river but only one can go at a time…. Amazing! These guys may sit there for a week to just cross the river. Anyway, we crossed on a small boat and headed out for our boat which would take us to explore the wildlife along the Chobe River. In the afternoon we would go on a land safari. The boat ride certainly exceeded all my expectations. The high point for me was all the hippos…. So many in one group… amazing The monitor lizards were pretty cool. The one I like best was trying to eat a very large dung beetle (nice diet). The elephants, hippos, antelope & birds were very, very cool. We went to a nice place for lunch and then headed out in our safari vehicles. The game drive was pretty good; highlighted by numerous elephants & giraffes. It was a very nice day visiting Botswana and there wildlife. When we were done, Steven was there waiting for us to take us back to the Zambezi Sun Hotel. Great day!

This may be your last cruise Jeff as I can see you doing more land vacations to top some of these locations.
