Day 63 Apia, Samoa

What a fabulous day in beautiful Samoa…. We arrived very early, around 7:00 in the morning and I got off the ship first thing. My initial plan was to catch a taxi and go to 3 specific waterfalls that I had visited previously, Falefa falls, Fuipisia falls and Papapatai falls. The taxi drivers wanted to go for the big score so I decided I would just walk into town and walk around a bit. I have been here several times so I wasn’t willing to be gouged by a taxi driver. I had a nice walk around the town to see the sights and markets so I decided to go back to the ship. On the way back I had a nice discussion with a taxi driver who was much more reasonable so I was off seeing this lush, beautiful island and its waterfalls. On a sad note, while on the other side of the island I saw first hand the destruction brought on by the Tsunami in September… It was really devastating and many people lost their lives. It was very, very sad…. Other than that part of the day, I had a lovely time and the people along the way were wonderful. I always enjoy coming back to Samoa. It’s too bad I won’t be here this evening… I was interviewed for TV and the newspaper. It was fabulous day! Now we are off for 4 sea days on our way to Honolulu, Hawaii.

Hi Jeff! Miss you guys already, it's 2 degrees celcius here :( I wasn't sure if you knew, but if you google the "Samoa Observer" your picture and quotes are in the article. I hope you're having a nice run so far and the ship hasn't sunk without Lori and I.
