Day8 At Sea

Today was just a lazy day…. The first have of the day was overcast with a bit of a breeze but the sun was coming through. It made for a really comfortable and nice morning. In the afternoon the sun came out more and it just improved on a very pleasant morning. Tonight is our second formal night but I will be skipping it. Tomorrow is a big day and I will be getting up around 0400 so I thought I’d bag it early…. We arrive into Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala very early in the morning. I will be going to the Mayan ruins of Copan in Honduras as I mentioned before. Here is a description of my tour:
Maya Artists at Copan
Travel into Honduras by chartered small aircraft (here’s that whole Indiana Jones thing I worry about!) to visit Copan--the Paris of the ancient Mayan world. A short drive leads you over a dirt road to the ruins of Copan. Enjoy a 2 1/2-hour, 1 1/4-mile stroll to see the pyramids, temples, and stelae. Marvel at the well-preserved Ball Court, ponder the peculiar inscriptions on the magnificent stelae, and admire the famed Hieroglyphic Stairway. Visit the New Sculpture Museum, then you will stop for lunch in the town of Copan. Step into the local museum or shop for local souvenirs before you fly back to Guatemala and the ship. I have also been asked to send out a very, very special message: Happy Birthday Emily from Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala. Happy Birthday from the ms Rotterdam!!!!
