It was pretty dreary looking as we sailed into our anchorage in Belize…. It was not too promising. Apollonia & I went ashore on the first tender and hooked up with a taxi driver named Jerry to check out the local sights. This looks like a fairly poor area but there are still signs of the old colonial period. We had a nice tour for a couple of hours checking out the city along with the suburban areas. The rain held off and the weather improved, albeit modestly, as the day progressed. We had a nice time ashore and went back to the ship around lunchtime. Once I got back to the ship the sun appeared so I went out on the decks and read for a while. It was a very nice day and a wonderful time ashore with my friend Apollonia….
